Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by your professional safari guide and begin a scenic drive to Kibale Forest National Park in western Uganda. The journey takes approximately 5–6 hours, passing through rolling hills, tea plantations, and rural countryside. On arrival, check in at your lodge and enjoy time to relax after the journey. Later, attend a briefing in preparation for your chimpanzee trekking experience scheduled for the following day. Dinner and overnight at the lodge near Kibale Forest..
After an early breakfast, proceed to the Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for a briefing before beginning your chimpanzee trekking experience in Kibale Forest National Park, home to one of Africa’s largest populations of wild chimpanzees. Accompanied by experienced rangers, you will track these fascinating primates through dense rainforest, with the trek lasting between 1 to 4 hours depending on their location. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided walk through the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary, renowned for its rich birdlife, butterflies, and community conservation initiatives. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight near Kibale Forest.
After an early breakfast, depart Kibale Forest and travel south-west to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, one of Africa’s most important conservation areas and home to endangered mountain gorillas. The journey takes approximately 6–7 hours, passing through scenic countryside, tea plantations, and rural villages. Arrive in Bwindi in the late afternoon or early evening, check in at your lodge, and enjoy time to relax in preparation for the following day’s gorilla trekking experience. Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing with Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Accompanied by experienced guides, you will trek through the dense rainforest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek can take between 2 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements and terrain. Once the gorillas are located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat—watching their interactions, learning about their behavior, and capturing photographs. In the afternoon, return to your lodge to relax or take part in an optional community visit, supporting local conservation and village initiatives. Dinner and overnight at your lodge in Bwindi.
After breakfast, depart Bwindi and begin the scenic drive back to Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight. Along the way, enjoy views of Uganda’s lush countryside and reflect on the unforgettable highlights of your safari, including chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest, gorilla encounters in Bwindi, and the country’s breathtaking landscapes.
